Rules & Eligibility
Grants must have an ANC sponsor. You must reach out to an ANC 5F Commissioner to be your sponsor.
The grant must meet the OANC's criteria and be approved by OANC (through coordination with the sponsoring commissioner) before going to ANC 5F for a vote. While OANC does not provide input on the merits of the application, their review ensures that sufficient information is provided for the project to be funded via public funding.
The grant application process is competitive.
Grant applications must include a detailed description of the proposed project, a description of the public benefits to the constituents of ANC 5F, and a detailed budget.
Within 60 days of the grant award or within 30 days of the event/activity, whichever occurs later, the grantee must provide the commission with a statement as to the use of funds, including receipts totaling the grant amount or a refund of unspent funds.
Failure to comply with reporting requirements will result in the applicant being barred from receiving future grants from ANC 5F for one calendar year.
ANC 5F may also request the assistance of the DC Office of the Attorney General to recover the awarded funds.
Full details on our grant rules are in our standard procedures (Section 9).
